In my fifties I developed a serious back injury. After trying everything prescribed - acupuncture, massage etc. I discovered yoga. Practicing yoga over time my back improved. The issues weren't totally resolved but the pain became manageable.
I continued doing yoga and highly recommend it to Everyone in All age brackets. Yoga has strengthened my core and developed my endurance. It’s taught me meditation skills which I find absolutely necessary in a stress filled life.
In my experience yoga can be done in all stages of life. There is ALWAYS an alternative way to do a movement if one way particular way doesn’t work for you.
As the years progress and bodies age there’s a variety of styles of yoga to fit my needs. A few years back I had a major illness and practiced chair yoga during my recuperation. It was wonderfully effective. I highly recommend yoga to everyone regardless of age, sex or background.
